Memory Sharing: Stay Together

Togetherness is the feeling of being close to another person emotionally and physically. It is an emotion which cannot be definitive outside of its current sociological meaning, and the reality of such a term is not "knowledge." It is well symbolized by the gesture of holding both hands up, slightly cupped with palms facing each other, and moving them together to create a circle. The other symbol is also when two arms hold each other at the wrist. We are being as a family member.

Friends are everything in our university life. We do assignment, campaign and study together. When it comes to hanging out with friends, one can be sure that it is going to be absolutely amusing and unlimited fun. The talks seem to go on forever and any silly topic can become a point of lengthy discussions. Be it the latest trend in jewelry, the latest gadgets, old classic movies, the cute neighbor next door, work related pressures, there is no end to the list. In this stressful age, getting together with friends has become a luxury than a daily routine. Consider yourself lucky if you get to hang around with friends often because many people simply remember those good old days of carefree life with friends.

回忆分享：准备好下个故事了吗？

很久以前，有一位白雪公主；从前有个皇后；有七个小矮人主在森林里；有个英俊的邻国王子…

白雪公主的故事，真的就只属于白雪公主一个人的故事吗？如果没有她那恶毒的皇后，她怎么会去到森林里？怎么遇到小矮人？怎么会被王子救活？我们从小就听过的故事，完整的故事，永远不可能只有主角而已。

拉曼大学生活就像我人生里的其中一段故事。身边的每个人，同学，教师，社团团员，偶然认识的，或者陌生人，这些在不同时候出现的人，都是让我的故事更精彩更丰富的角色。因为有他们的配合，指导，帮助，支持，爱护，这段故事才能延续下去，才能让我的角色更突出，故事变得完整。当然，我或许也是别人故事里的某个小角色。即使在别人的剧本里也努力地把自己的角色做好，让别人也有个完整的故事。

            虽然说每个人都是自己生命的主角，但是永远都不会有只属于一个人的演出。没有各种人物和角色的配合和衬托，就没有过程，没有完美的故事结局。你，也准备好参与下一个故事了吗？

回忆分享：一起成长的日子

很多人都说大学生涯一定要过得非常精彩。。我们会遇到来自不同地方的人，看到不一样的世界，学到不一样的东西。。

很高兴在我的大学生涯中能加入佛学会这个大家庭。在这段期间，我从老师，朋友身上学习和接触到了很多很多不同的东西。。我们常一起办活动，参加生活营，佛学班。从中，我不但学习了很多在生活上和待人处事的道理，从不同的角度看事情，也认识了不少来自不同科系的朋友。大家彼此的感情就像一个大家庭，互相帮忙，照顾与包容。。

很多学哥学姐们也陆陆续续的毕业了，才发觉自己也很快要加入他们的行列，开始觉得有点舍不得。。得好好珍惜最后一个学期了，和大家一起相处的日子。。

祝福学哥学姐们前途无量，学弟学妹们有个精彩的大学生涯。。也祝福我身边所有的朋友！！

真的很感恩老师和朋友们一路以来的陪伴和指导。。有了你们，让我的大学生涯增添不少。。^^

回忆分享：一起走过的日子

时间飞逝，不知不觉我们已来到大学的最后一个学期。

从开学到现在大家相识都已经两三年的日子了。

当然在这段日子里有苦也有乐，不过很感激，因为这段日子有你们陪伴我度过。

在毕业之前，我们都拍摄了毕业照。而这个照相活动又再次的把大家聚集在一起。

也因为这一次难得的照相活动，那些早已转班的同学也回来拍摄只属于我们的班照。

在这次的照相活动里，我们留下了许多美好回忆的脚印，这脚印不但深深地烙印在照相机里头，也留影在心中。

我相信当我们毕业后，我们也会想念这三年来我们所一起经过的风风雨雨。

不管欢笑或泪水都会成为我们珍贵的回忆。

希望各位同伴能从此珍重。大家有缘再相见。

PR Campaign by G1- Togetherness

On 26th February 2012, we organized an out campus event called "Origami", at Grand Kampar Sport Complex. Scores of school children from Kampar area showed their support to us by working hand in hand with UTAR-ian, alumni and also public in forming the ‘Biggest Heart Shaped Folded Paper Logo’  to break the former record of Malaysia Book of Record. 

This fun-filled campaign based on the concept of “Togetherness”, bring all together to revel in the celebration by bringing in vendors and having games booth. More importantly, exhibition was held to allow public to have in-depth knowledge of UTAR and help the public to keep track of UTAR milestone. The group having high hopes that the formation of the gigantic 20m x 20m logo mosaic consisting of 82,960 pieces of heart-shaped folded paper pasted by 633 participants from all walks of life worthy of a place in Malaysia Book of Record asides of tightening the bond between UTAR and its public especially locals.

          

   In addition, the campaign also post messages and photos from alumni who wish to express their thanks and gratitude to their alma mater. Joining the team, one of the sponsors cum alumni from LITAR TRAVEL& TOUR, Mr Lee working as tour agency expressed that, “It is good to be able to be back and join the activities in celebration of his alma mater.” Everyone is encouraged to participate in their outreach activity to celebrate the anniversary just by “Origami together” and nobody is excluded, for Salvation Army Ipoh and Ipoh Boy’s Home were also invited to be part of this memorable 10^th Anniversary in line with the campaign’s slogan, “Our S_ccess is Incomplete Without ‘U’”.

On 5^th March 2012 till 13^th March 2012, we embarked yet on another mission to spread togetherness in in-campus campaign, Photo Montage’.  All the photographs were taken by the team together and our official photographer sponsor- DUKEMAN in a week time. 

            In the closing ceremony, Dr Teh applauds the student for their innovative and creative way in spreading the UTAR 10^th anniversary messages out. Moreover, the students also promote saving environment by giving out eco-friendly goodies bags to the students who participated in the team’s effort in raising fund for the UTAR Foundation Fund. Moreover, he also delighted that the student recycled all the origami used in their previous outreach event: Malaysia Largest Folded Paper Heart Shaped Logo.

            The photo montage ambient will be publicly display in the UTAR Perak Campus Block A starting from 13^th March for a month. So, guys please move your step to block A take a look.

Impression for alumni

To me, campus life was merely about the acquisition of knowledge from lecture and tutorial classes.

Being a journalism student, I enjoyed studying political science and sociology-related subjects as they opened my mind to see what was going on in the world. But that’s that. I could care less about any ongoing club activities no matter how fancy or impressive they were.

Do not mistake me for an introvert. I have no fear in mingling with people - just preferred spending quality time alone as a big part of it was dedicated to completing The Assignments Marathon.

However, I realised that as a JR student who aspired to become a journalist, I needed to expand my social circle. 

After having persuaded the Hunchback of Notre Dame in me, I stepped out into a whole new world and encountered the Emeralda in J-on. 

J-on is an online campus news portal, the brainchild of our seniors and operated by different batches of JR students. It served as a platform for JR students to practise news writing skills before marching into the real battlefield.

Writing stories on campaigns, accidents and campus facilities for J-on had pushed me to attend functions and meet people I would not have met if the news portal did not come into existence in my second year of studies.

Looking back, I believed my participation in J-on had given me a clear vision on the kind of journalist I intent to be when I graduate. I am thankful for the opportunity as it added on a new definition to my “campus life”.

活动结束之感想~ 来自公关与宣传组组长 （完结篇）

活动结束

终于，活动来到了尾声。我谨代表队友们向所有赞助商致谢，如果没有你们的慷慨解囊就没有我们今天的活动。

谢谢你们！谢谢给与我们帮助的老师们，所有职员们。谢谢Dr Cheah, Ms Foo, Mr Pong以及Ms Olive。 你们为我们提供了很多宝贵的意见。

谢谢其他六组的Director， 谢谢你们在我们的活动中提供协助，当然也谢谢你们出席我们的活动。

感谢帮我们折心形的朋友，我们的友谊在那个时候已经表露无遗。。。什么是朋友？？就在那个时刻，你们告诉了我们。

谢谢所有媒体的出席并且刊登我们的新闻。

活动可以让原本不认识的人成为好朋友; 活动可以让原本认识的人更了解对方。虽然在活动进行中我们吵架过，甚至想打架。。。但是，就是因为双方的坦白，双方的握手道歉，双方的拥抱，我们把不愉快留在昨天，今天的我们是心连心，一起完成末完成的任务。 或许在老师眼中，我们达不到” togetherness” , 但是我们心中都有个谱，我们知道在某一个时候，我们已经达到“当我们同在一起”的境界了。

Photo Montage- 照片拼图

校外活动办完之后，紧接着就是我们的校内活动。这活动维持了一个星期。

或许你会问什么是photo montage？ 瞧，我们就是把千余张照片贴在这个巨大UTAR立体图形。

 谢谢所有参与的同学，还有最大功劳就是我们的创意组。如果没有他们的创意和努力，我们根本弄不出这么美丽的图形。

这看似简单的活动，没有开幕，没有媒体，没有排场。。。但是我们的付出绝不亚于其他小组。如果背后没有队员认真地去找人拍照，如果没有他们耐心地把照片一张一张贴上去，哪来今天那么漂亮的图形呢？？

当初把这个立体图形放在学校做宣传，结果在活动前一天队友们发现图形被猫爪破了。能怎样呢？？大家只好漏夜把图形修补好，以让我们的图形在活动进行时一最好的状态呈现给大家。

在这里，谢谢我们的制定摄影师Dukeman陪我们跑完两成活动，甚至还陪我们去宣传，你是我看过最勤力的赞助商，谢谢你！

活动结束之感想~ 来自公关与宣传组组长 （二）

大马最大心形折纸拼图

终于来到了我们的校外活动，大马最大心形纸折拼图( origami)。

谢谢我们队友-Becoz的妈妈把这十匹布缝在一起。其实一点都不夸张，试想想，我们必须把十匹布都打开来，整个面积都差不多要大过一个礼堂了。

在活动当天，整队人都牺牲了自己的睡眠，通宵布置场地以及做最后的准备。这一天，应该都是大家最难忘的吧？？

在场，我们可以看到大家（校内外人士）都为了完成拼图而努力。尤其是在最后关头的时候，因为一些技术上的问题，我们的纸张不够了，但是在场的参加者都不肯放弃，大家坚持一起把心形纸折完，我们的队员也部分你我，大家都一起努力，那一刻我们真的感受到” Togetherness”, 是真的可以感受到“当我们每年同在一起”。我们在一起为同一个目标努力，即使VIP已经到了，我们都不肯放弃。

好在皇天不负有心人，我们做到了！我们办到了！其实拉曼大学建校路程何尝不是这样呢？？当中有很多挑战，但是因为有很多善心人士的慷慨解囊，我们才有今天的辉煌成就。希望大家都记得，拉曼大学十周年的时候你跟我俄每年一起打破大马纪录大全。

当见证人宣布我们打破大马纪录的那一刻，内心是多么的感动。

虽然，我们的活动不是最好的，甚至可以说有点乱，但是在那一瞬间，那股“当我们同在一起”的感觉是多么的强。大家不肯放弃的精神是多么的棒！

活动结束之感想~ 来自公关与宣传组组长 （一）

不知不觉，我们的活动来到了一段落。

几个月的相处，其实让我们的感情增进了不少。这几个月来，可以说是风风雨雨，但是我们还是一路走过来了。不管最后的成绩是怎样，但是可以说，我们已经尽力了。

宣传

在办大马纪录活动之前，我们很努力地到处去宣传。我们连续在学校摆了半个月的摊子。 

  
 为了宣传，我们甚至在学校的义卖会租摊位来让跟多人知道我们的活动。所有队员都不计较周末还要回来学校站岗，大家一心都奉献了给这个活动。 


为了让更多人参与我们的活动，我们拜访了很多间中学，甚至去了教育局几趟。真的很感谢校方给我们的方便与合作。

谢谢培元独中的校长支持我们的活动，甚至让我们去他们的华乐表演宣传活动。谢谢刘老师帮我们把学生资料处理好。

在这里也想谢谢Malim Nawar的Ms Oh， 谢谢老师支持我们的活动而且带了40多位学生来参与我们的活动。谢谢老师帮我们处理好所有学生资料。

还记得，在活动前的最后三天，我们得到KTAR的允许进入他们的校园宣传，虽然反应一般，但是我知道，我们知道至少我们的活动已经让更多人知道了。

老实说，宣传并不是单靠个人的力量就能完成。衷心感谢每天抽出时间来站岗的朋友们，还有那些跑校外，甚至还自己掏腰包去宣传的朋友。感谢牺牲睡眠而到中学宣传的队友们！

有时觉得很庆幸，我们有很多愿意付出的队友。大家都可以互相帮忙地把东西完成，就像这边，有人做手工，有人帮忙挂宣传工具。这种团队精神是可贵的。

当然，33人中当然也会有不合作的队友，当中有爱邀功的队友，有爱偷懒的队友。。。其实什么人都有，但是他们只是少数。我相信团队精神是可以战胜一切，克服所有挑战的！
